Wedding Planning
The Difference Between a Wedding Planner and a Day-of Coordinator
These two terms get used interchangeably, but they're quite different — and knowing which one you need can save you a lot of money and confusion.
Wedding planner
A full wedding planner is involved from the very beginning. They help you find and book your venue, build your supplier team, manage your budget, and guide every decision from the first meeting through to the wedding day itself.
Full planning suits couples who want someone else to drive the process — either because they're time-poor, planning from interstate or overseas, or simply don't want to manage the logistics themselves.
Day-of coordinator
A day-of coordinator steps in once your planning is largely done. They review your plans, confirm details with your suppliers, build a final timeline, and manage everything on the day itself.
Day-of coordination suits couples who have enjoyed the planning process but want a calm, experienced presence to bring it all together and run the day without them having to manage it.
Partial planning
Somewhere in between is partial planning — support with specific parts of the process, like vendor coordination or timeline building, without taking over the entire planning journey.
At Kapturing Love by K, all three options are available. Most couples from Tamworth and regional NSW choose day-of coordination or partial planning. Enquire to find out what's right for your wedding.
