Wedding Budgeting Tips for NSW Couples

Wedding budgets have a habit of growing past the original number. Here's how to keep yours realistic.

Start with a real number, not a wish number

Decide what you can genuinely afford before you start looking at venues — it's much easier to hold a budget than to claw one back after falling in love with something over it.

Build in a buffer

Most couples end up spending more than their original budget once extras, upgrades, and surprises are factored in. A buffer of around 15–20% avoids that becoming a source of stress.

Know where the money actually goes

Venue and catering are typically the biggest line items by far. If you need to trim, that's usually where the real savings are — not stationery or small details.

Regional NSW can stretch further

Weddings outside Sydney metro often come with meaningfully lower venue and vendor pricing, without sacrificing the day itself.

Where a coordinator or planner helps

Budget guidance is built into both Partial Planning and Full Wedding Planning — including knowing where to spend and where it's safe to save.
